Bob & Sallie Connelly will auction Silver, Art, Paintings, Oriental, Ephemera, Collectibles and Furniture at the Showplace in Binghamton NY on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at noon with a preview at 10:00 am.
The Connellys have designated this a No Reserve auction. All of the 150+ items in this auction will be sold to the highest bidder. There are no “reserve prices” or “minimum bids.” Bob says “We always get a good turnout in person, on the phone and online. And this auction is packed with top drawer paintings and other pieces. Everything will go and the sellers will be happy!”
Although this is a country auction with something for everyone, the art, silver and paintings will be the stars of the show. There’s a Chinese presentation bowl that you’d expect to see at Sotheby’s, an outstanding 24″ Chinese bronze vase that a certain billionaire would die for, paintings by Icart, von Fascini, von Grützner and Fritz Oswald that you’d expect to find in a national museum, and paintings from the Aldrich Museum that were deaccessioned when it changed direction a few years ago.
Of course, no Connelly auction would be complete without a few wild and wacky collectibles. There’s a crystal radio set tricked out like a book, an Art Deco Penny Scale rescued from the defunct Palisades Amusement Park in NJ, a Goebel “München Weltstadt Mit Herz” figurine, now more appropriate than ever, and a boxed accordion ready for a trip to the State Fair.
